Prof. Dr. BahtiyarDemiralp was born in Ankara Turkey.
He received his M.D. degree from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey) in 1991.
Dr. Demiralp’s residency was completed at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA) Ankara, Turkey. He served in the Turkish Army as a general practitioner and an orthopedic surgeon, different cities in Turkey. He especially had the opportunity to train managing multi trauma patients, war injuries, gunshot wounds.
He had assistant professor and associate professor degrees in GMMA. In addition he worked in MAYO Clinic with Dr.Franklin Sim (Dr.Sim is one of the most famous orthopaedic tumor surgeon in the World) about orthopaedic oncology and worked with Dr Michael Yaszemski( DrYaszemski is Professor of Orthopedics and Professor of Biomedical Engineering ), in Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials Laboratory in Rochester, MN , USA for a year.
After Dr. Demiralp retired from Turkish Army on 2012, he joined the faculty at Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine. He has more than 50 international articles. He is married and has a son.
